Monday’s Musing…Bad Decisions

HOMELAND (Season 4)

Happy Monday, everyone.  Season 4 of “Homeland” is really doing a number on my psyche, so I apologize in advance for the running posts…but I can’t stop thinking about last night’s episode.  SPOILER ALERT below,  In case you had better things to do last night.

I just can’t stop thinking about many of the characters’ bad decisions.  I won’t even start to get into Carrie’s life right now (I mean, I love her dedication to the job…but how old is her potential informant, exactly?  And why does she continue to carry a cross-body bag?).

The big question on my mind today: How on earth did Saul end up in a bathroom by himself, with a known enemy hit-man?  It was borderline unbearable to watch the events unfold.  Saul is a former CIA Director…yet he followed this scary dude into an airport bathroom and when he was “made”, Saul just patted his jacket like he was looking for a pen.  What?!  Don’t you think he’d do something different under pressure? However, in fairness, I have made many bad decisions in the heat of the moment.

Namely, when I am trying to “get ready” in the morning, and there are several other, very distracting things going on (i.e. screaming/whining/I know I need to brush my teeth but keep prioritizing other said distractions/must drink coffee/kids still in underwear and school starts in five minutes, etc.) — it’s difficult to contemplate creative wardrobe choices.  Or getting dressed at all.  Which is why the HEUCY #PerfectTen is my new best friend.

I wore this little number all day Saturday, at my daughter’s preschool Halloween party (chic, flattering…and works very well with a pair of tiger ears + smeared face paint) and changed into the Alter Ego for my cozy dinner with the girls.  I picked the Perfect Ten again on Sunday — for brunch, another Halloween party, and then dinner with friends.  I even wore it while I watched “Homeland.”  I spent about 2 seconds picking out my weekend uniform, and managed to save a lot of time and energy that I later spent managing the ups and downs of sugar-induced toddler rage.  And spending time with loved ones.

I wore HEUCY all weekend and enjoyed every minute of it.  The added value: I can just wash it on “hand wash” cycle, tumble dry delicate or lay flat to dry…and it’s ready to wear again.
